Cynthia Penovi, Leadership Council
Cynthia Penovi is the co-owner of Argentum Translations, a women-owned, minority, and family-run language services provider based in the United States. She has been a valued professional in the translation field since 2011 and holds a B.A. in English-Spanish Technical, Scientific and Literary Translation, as well as an M.A. in Art and Communication. Besides having extensive experience in translation, editing and localization, she is a certified Spanish Proofreader and Teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language. She used to work as an in-house Subtitle Editor and Translator in Argentina before relocating to the United States in 2016, where she continued developing a successful career in Translation Project Management. Cynthia has been an active member of different professional organizations such as AATI (Argentine Association of Translators and Interpreters), MATI (Midwest Association of Translators and Interpreters) and CATI (Carolina Association of Translators and Interpreters). She collaborates with the ATA (American Translators Association) as part of its Translation Company Division’s Leadership Council. Nowadays, she works closely with several national and international clients to overcome language and cultural barriers, expand their business into new markets, and connect with the entire non-English speaking community.
