Claudia Marchena, Council Member
Claudia Marchena was born and raised in Colombia, South America. After graduating from a bilingual high school, in Bogotá, Colombia, Claudia attended the Evans Institute in Los Angeles, California, where she completed studies in conversational English. Two years later, Claudia attended the Florida State University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in French literature and graduated summa cum laude. In 1991, she was the first non-U.S. citizen to be the recipient of a scholarship at l’Institut Catholique in Paris, France where she studied French literature. In 1993, Marchena earned her Master’s degree in Multilingual Education and Linguistics from Florida State University where she graduated cum laude.
In 2009, Claudia founded Marchena Translations, which specializes in translations in the fields of law, education, and medicine. She joined the ATA in 2010. Furthermore, Claudia has been a Certified Litigation Paralegal since 2003 and she is a member of the Florida Bar in good standing.
