Alaina Brandt, Leadership Council

 

Alaina Brandt (she/they) is an Associate Professor of Professional Practice within the Translation and Localization Program at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, where Brandt teaches about localization project, production, vendor, terminology, and quality management. Brandt is Secretary of the American Translators Association and Membership Secretary of ASTM International Committee F43 on Language Services and Products. She is also Chair of ATA’s Standards Committee. Brandt holds a master’s degree in language, literature, and translation, specializing in Spanish to English translation from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee. 

Prior to teaching, Brandt held various roles related to translation and localization production management at companies of varying levels of localization maturity. She’s helped to direct production of multilingual language products in over eighty languages, and she’s translated content to English from over twenty Spanish-speaking countries, including the United States, Mexico, and Venezuela.

Brandt currently resides in California, USA.
